Arcanalia has no accounts and doesn't ask for your name or email. This page explains what we collect, why, who handles it and for how long.
Your question
In the daily three-card reading and the love reading, if you type a question (and, if you like, some context), we send it to our server and to Anthropic, whose AI model Claude writes your interpretation. We don't store what you type and we never send it to analytics. Anthropic says it doesn't use data sent through its API to train its models by default, and that it deletes it within 30 days, unless it needs to keep it longer to enforce its usage policy or because the law requires it. If you leave the question empty, nothing you type leaves your browser. The question in the yes or no reading always stays in your browser.
Your daily reading
For each type of reading, we store that ID with the date, the topic you chose (if any), the cards drawn (three cards, or one for yes or no) and, if Claude wrote one, your interpretation. The interpretation may mention what you wrote. It is all deleted automatically after 48 hours.
Network address
To stop abuse, we count requests per network address (IP). Our code never stores the address itself, only a keyed one-way hash, and those counters expire within a few hours. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard request logs that include IP addresses, under its own privacy policy.
Comments
If you send a comment after a reading, it is emailed to us with your vote (helpful or not), the topic, the language and the cards. It isn’t linked to your cookie, your network address or any email address. Please don’t include personal information in your comment. Resend, which sends these emails, may keep a copy under its own privacy policy.
Analytics
We use Umami, a cookieless analytics tool, to count page views and actions such as finishing a reading (for example the topic, the language, whether you typed a question and whether the reading was interpreted by AI, never the question itself). It never receives your question, your context or your comment. If your browser sends Do Not Track, Umami doesn’t run.
Performance
We use Vercel Speed Insights to measure how fast pages load. On each page load it sends Vercel the page address, load-time measurements, your browser, operating system, device type, network speed and country. It uses no cookies and isn’t tied to you.
Who handles the data
These providers handle data for us: Vercel (hosting and performance measurement), Upstash (stores daily readings and abuse counters), Anthropic (writes AI interpretations), Resend (sends comment emails), Umami (analytics) and Apple iCloud Mail (our mailbox, where comments and messages to hello@arcanalia.com arrive). They may process data in the United States and other countries.
No selling, no ads
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. There are no ads on Arcanalia.
Children
Arcanalia is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
Delete your data
If you sent a comment and want it deleted, email hello@arcanalia.com and tell us roughly when you sent it and what it said. We’ll delete it from our mailbox within 30 days and reply to confirm. Your daily reading, including its interpretation, isn’t linked to your name or email: clearing this site’s cookies disconnects you from it, and it is deleted automatically after 48 hours.
Changes
If we change this page, we’ll update the date at the top.
